Specialist Group recently gave a donation of £1,000 to Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue.

Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue is a member unit of the UK’s Lowland Rescue service. They are a 100% voluntary specialist Search and Rescue Unit which helps the emergency services to help find missing children and vulnerable adults. They are on-call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with a team of 60+ people ready to respond across Suffolk and surrounding areas.

They are a registered charity and therefore, solely rely on donations and sponsorships. The past year has been very challenging for many and in particular charities, Specialist Group are delighted to be able to contribute towards the much needed funds that this charity need to allow them to carry on with the exceptional service that they provide. We thank all of those involved for their hard work and efforts.

Our very own Andy King, Project Director (London Based) is an active member of this group and joined in 2005. In Andy’s words:

‘My Father had passed of Alzheimer’s disease a year or so before, and at that time 25% of all callouts where to locate and recover people suffering from the disease. It quite quickly became a significant part of my life to which it remains to this day, and I have taken part in over 300 searches. Every search is very different and a huge lesson that I learnt many years ago was to always think outside the box as no 2 situations are ever the same and nothing should be ruled out, particularly when factoring in people.’
