Ulster Hospital
Specialist Group worked on a joint venture with Grahams and BAM Construction to deliver a multi million pound bespoke Joinery fit out package for Ulster Hospital, Dundonald, replacing an in-patient ward block built in the 1960s.
Our scope of works included nurses stations, IPS panels, bed head units and reception desks. Bespoke innovative bedhead units ensured patients received the greatest level of comfort whilst built in facilities such as gas and air, communications and waste bins making the most efficient use of space and providing essential services all in the one place.
In line with its purpose, pristine white panelling was used throughout to assure visitors of its immaculate hygiene yet sharp bursts of colour give it an inviting warmth and breaks away from that clinical impression that is synonymous with hospitals. The ingenious “floating” reception counters are dominant throughout this modern and practical project.
Specialist created local jobs on the Ulster Hospital Project. In delivering a £1.5 million package of HTM furniture for this project, we were able to secure local employment, create a further 3 local jobs and provide training opportunities for staff working on the project.
