Custom Metal Trims

We provide a range of custom metal trims in Flat, L, U and J profiles. All trims are available in a wide variety of base metals and finishes to suit your design needs.

Metal trims are both functional and decorative, providing an impact resistant edge to delicate wall panelling and furniture in busy spaces.

Materials:

Aluminium – Aluminium is a versatile trim for low to medium traffic areas and furniture. With finishes including brushed, polished, anodised and polyester powder coat available, almost any colour and texture can be matched. Aluminium can be easily cut to length on site without the need for hot work and specialised cutting tools.

Stainless Steel – Stainless Steel, being the hardest of our trims, is an excellent choice for high traffic areas. It is most commonly used in its natural colour in either a brushed or mirror polished finish. Where high corrosion resistance is of priority Stainless Steel is the go to choice. Stainless Steel can also be finished in a wide variety of Polyester Powder Coats allowing a vast choice of colour and texture.

Brass – Brass is a decorative trim that adds a touch of luxury. Brass trim is commonly used in both natural and antiqued colours. Antiquing can take the form of the most subtle patina all the way to a dark bronze finish and can be further distressed by burnishing to give the most aged looks.

Finishes:

Polyester Powder Coated – Our powder coat colour range is virtually unlimited. Offering the RAL classic colour range as well as a colour match service to most popular paint brands, we are confident we can offer a colour to meet your design scheme. We also offer a range of metallic colours designed to offer the versatility and durability of powder coat but mimic the appearance of natural or anodised metals.

Brushed – Brushed finishes take on the natural colour of the chosen metal and provide a low sheen finish. For further durability, the finish can be protected by a clear lacquer or powder coat although this is often unnecessary.

Polished – Polished finishes give a mirror sheen to the base metal. On stable base metals such as aluminium and stainless steel, no further finishing is required. For brass a wax is used to lock in the newly polished look and slow any natural patination that occurs.

Antiqued – Antiquing is often applied to brass and provides a range of patination from subtle yellows to dark browns and blacks, mimicking bronze. The initial aged material can be left unprotected to allow it to continue the ageing process naturally or can be protected by a hard wax to lock in the finish achieved.

Anodised – Anodising is an electrochemical finishing process that colours the surface of aluminium materials and enhances the natural oxide layer that protects aluminium to provide greater corrosion resistance.

Other finishing processes – Talk to us about any custom finishes you require. Our previous experience includes PVD coloured finish on stainless steel, liquid metal coatings, corten steels, and blackening.

Maximum Length – The majority of our trim profiles are available up to 5m length; however we find that shorter sections are more practical for site access. Where possible we factory fit trims to our glass and joinery products within our modern manufacturing facility at Specialist HQ minimising site install time.
