Specialist Group are seeking an experienced Beam Saw Operative to join our Machine Shop Team. As one of the top bespoke commercial interior fit out companies our clients demand excellence in quality and on time delivery.  The successful candidate will set up, run and maintain large, automated saws to precisely cut materials, following technical drawings and work orders ensuring quality and adhering strictly to safety protocols.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Run beam saw machines to cut materials according to specifications and drawings
• Set up and secure materials, adjust blades, feed rates and speeds
• Inspect cut pieces for accuracy, defects and proper dimensions
• Perform routine cleaning, checks and minor trouble shooting on the saw
• Maintain records of output and materials used
• Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines

Essential Skills:

• Experience with CNC machinery or beam saws
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, CAD files and cutting lists
• Strong numerical skills for calculating dimensions and measuring workpieces accurately
• Strong attention to detail
• Understanding of materials and their properties

Desirable Skills:

• Manufacturing or production experience in a wood working environment
• Experience of running and operating other CNC machinery
