Virgin Whitfield Studios

Creativity Reworked. Carefully.

A historic recording studio site transformed into a contemporary workplace.

Once home to one of London’s most iconic recording studios, the former Whitfield Studios site has been reimagined as a contemporary Virgin workplace that retains its distinctive creative character.

Working with White Red Architects and BW, Specialist delivered bespoke joinery throughout the fit-out. We proposed a proprietary slatted, acoustic batten-panel system throughout, to both achieve the required detailing and an easy installation. When material lead times threatened delivery of the curved fluted doors, Specialist brought their manufacture in-house, developing an innovative process that protected both the design intent and programme.

Through close collaboration and practical problem-solving, new interventions were carefully integrated into this culturally significant building, creating a workplace shaped by heritage, creativity and beautifully resolved detail.
