Summary
Creative Detail. Delivered.
A six-floor headquarters for Sony Music, delivered through complex joinery, material coordination and finish control.
Sony Music’s London headquarters at King’s Cross brings the business into one of the capital’s key creative and technology districts, with spaces designed to support artists, employees, collaboration and culture. The workplace includes live event space, recording and photography studios, listening rooms, social spaces and a roof terrace.
Working with MoreySmith and BW, Specialist delivered a £2m joinery package across six fit-out levels, from Level 00 to Level 06. Scope included timber doors, high-acoustic metal doors, risers, wall panelling, tea points, AV rooms, event space, multi-function rooms, breakout areas and meeting rooms.
The project involved more than 100 finishes, including timber, tile, stone, solid surface, metal, glass, fabric, leather and mesh. Specialist coordinated complex interfaces across joinery, tiling and AV, resolving details before procurement and installation. Bespoke solutions included folded metal wall panels with concealed mechanical fixings, leather-wrapped feature panels and timber flooring upgraded to meet fire strategy requirements.
The project was shortlisted for Mixology23 Project of the Year: Workplace Interiors 70k+ sq ft.
