Canonical

Summary
Craft Without Fixings
A contemporary technology workplace shaped by precision, timber and Japanese joinery techniques.
Canonical’s workplace at 5 New Street Square was designed for one of the world’s leading open-source technology companies, creating an environment that supports innovation, collaboration and global connection.
Working with BW and tp bennett, Specialist delivered bespoke joinery across key workplace areas. The project included travel to Japan with the client and project team to select hinoki timber, bringing a highly considered material story into the finished scheme.
The joinery was developed as a fixing-free project, using Japanese joining techniques without glue. This supported precision, craft and future disassembly, while maintaining the clean detailing expected within a premium London workplace.
